And then I just started writing…

About Garold N. Larson

Hi! My name is Garold Larson, but I mostly go by Gary. I was born in Arizona, where I spent my boyhood and had countless adventures in the desert, many of which involved rattlesnakes, cactus, and my dog Smokey. These days, I live in Fruit Heights, Utah, with my lovely wife, Lisa, and am the proud dad of four sons, two daughters, and twelve grandchildren.

When my kids were young, I loved reading to them at night and making up crazy adventure stories. Storytelling has always been a passion of mine. My first book actually began many years ago when my three oldest children were ages 13, 10, and 8. I used to tell them stories about Arizona and about the legend of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine in the Superstition Mountains. It was then that we came up with the idea of writing a book about the legend, with three main characters just like them. We actually got seven chapters written before it was put away and forgotten.

Many years later, I read the chapters to my grandchildren, and they begged me to finish it. They even helped me come up with many of the ideas that I used in the book. It was their positive input and encouragement that motivated me to finally finish it. It was such a fun experience that I decided to keep writing! Now I have two finished books with the third in the works.

I spent my career as a software engineer and loved being immersed in the tech world, having designed and coded many software systems. My favorite food is enchiladas, and I probably could eat them every day!
