More about Garold N. Larson

For those who really want to know more about me, below is probably much more information than you bargained for. But if you’re interested, here it is:

Biking

I love to road bike with my wife and have ridden hundreds, perhaps thousands of miles with her all over the world. More recently, I have developed an interest in bike touring. One of my more ambitious trips was a 10-day solo bike ride from the Utah-Idaho border to the Utah-Arizona border.

Making Things

I have always loved working with my hands. Since I was a child, I have loved building and making things. Creating, whether with words or with my hands, is where I find my greatest satisfaction in life. Here are a few examples of my many crazy projects:

Backyard Train for the grandkids
Iron Giant sculpture for grandson
Fairytale playhouse for granddaughter

Creating Videos

Creating videos is another one of my interests. My first films were on 8mm film. Now I’ve progressed to drones and GoPros. I’ve created tons of videos over the years just for fun. Here are a few examples.

Grandparent’s Camps

One of my greatest joys is having 12 amazing grandchildren. I adore them and love to plan crazy adventures for them. Our grandparents’ camps have become legendary!

Island Adventure Camp

Traveling

I love to travel with my wife all over the world. We enjoy experiencing other cultures and exploring great historical sites together.

Running

My wife ran her first marathon in 1998 and inspired me to train for and run one the next year. After that, we ran many marathons together and some separately. Lisa has run 25 marathons, and I have run 13. In recent years, we have tapered off running and taken up biking instead, but we still look back fondly on the many miles we have run together.
